Dean Jones claims Antonio Conte is ready to transform Manchester United amidst links
Speaking during the latest edition of Touchline Talk (h/t This is Futbol), journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Antonio Conte is interested in taking over the Manchester United job amidst links.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to prove his quality on the big occasions for the Red Devils as he has often failed in the final or the semi-final of competitions. This season has been no different, and although fans would have expected their team to challenge for the league title after their massive summer investment, they are not even in the Top 4 anymore.
However, it appears as though the Norwegian’s job is safe right now, but the feeling might change amongst the hierarchy if the poor results continue. Antonio Conte has been linked with the club in recent times, and given his track record of winning trophies in Italy & England, he could be a good option.
Journalist Dean Jones has now revealed that the 52-year-old manager is also ready to pitch a plan to Manchester United. Jones told Touchline Talk (h/t This is Futbol):
“Conte, we’ve seen that he can go into clubs short-term and have a big impact. I’m told, from somebody who spoke to Conte very recently, that he’s certainly interested in the idea and would love the chance to just pitch to the United board about how he would transform this team and how he would turn them into winners.
However, the journalist also later revealed that Conte might not get the chance to do so as of right now.
“But at the moment, there are no signs he’s (Conte) going to get the chance to make that pitch.”

There are few managers currently available in world football who have a better CV than the former Inter Milan boss. He is a proven winner but has left his last two clubs within two years.
Thus, it will be up to the United board to make a decision on the future of Solskjaer as the Italian is looking to pounce on any opportunity he gets to manage the Old Trafford outfit.
