Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals recent chat with Sir Alex Ferguson at Carrington
Speaking in the pre-match press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he only shared a brief moment with Sir Alex Ferguson in the past week after the 5-0 loss against Liverpool.
The legendary club manager arrived at Carrington on Tuesday – the day when former chairman Martin Edwards and ex-chief David Gill also came to the club’s training ground. There was a lot of commotion over the future of Solskjaer after the recent patchy form.
The Norwegian manager has now addressed these claims and has revealed that the Scotsman only came there because it was a commercial day, although the pair did share a conversation after Cristiano Ronaldo had a talk with his former manager.
Solskajer told reporters in the pre-match press conference that the Scottish legend was only there due to commercial reasons (h/t Manchester Evening News):
“Yes, on both accounts, if that’s short and sweet. Joking apart, we had a commercial day, and Sir Alex came to do some commercial stuff, and I met him and spoke to him for a brief moment because he was in there with Cristiano [Ronaldo].”
The 48-year-old also talked about his future and how he will ‘fight back’ till the end.
“I’ve been through some very bad moments here as a player, and when I’ve been a manager, I’ve dealt with setbacks. There probably have been two or three crises, at least, since I became the manager here and one thing, I can say is I’ll always give it a good shot and fight back.”

Ferguson was at the game against arch-rivals Liverpool, and as he was pictured in the director’s box. The former United manager rarely ever suffered such humiliating defeats, especially against their biggest rivals in the game.
Regardless, his former disciple will now need to prove his mettle on the weekend as they travel to North London to pick up their first league victory in five games.
