Antonio Conte ready to present Manchester United with a project amidst calls to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to Eurosport (h/t The Express), Antonio Conte is ready to pitch his project to Manchester United amidst calls to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former Red Devil has done an incredible job at Old Trafford in the last three years as he has stabilized them, brought in incredible players, and retained the club’s best players as well.
However, it feels like that is where the buck ends for Solskjaer. The Norwegian is yet to guide his former club to major silverware, and given the kind of talent in their squad, it is high time the Manchester-based outfit compete amongst the big boys again.
The rough patch of form does not seem to end for the 48-year-old and he has now been given three games to save his job, after which, his future will be evaluated by the board in the November international break.
If they do decide to sack him, Antonio Conte is thought to be ready to take over at the helm. The Italian is willing to join the club and is also believed to be compiling a pitch to present to United if they appoint him.
The 52-year-old is apparently preparing a project that will see the club compete for trophies this season despite the slow start. It is also ‘likely’ to focus on improving United’s defensive performances and recommending signings that will help him shape his squad.

The former Inter Milan manager is said to be the outstanding candidate alongside Zinedine Zidane for the job. Brendan Rodgers’ history with Liverpool makes him an ‘unlikely’ candidate for the job while Erik Ten Hag is currently managing at AFC Ajax, and it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to leave the Dutch club mid-season.
Thus, the pressure is mounting on Solskjaer and should he fail to save his job, prospective managers like Conte are in waiting to take up the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford.
