Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could become Norway manager if Manchester United decide to sack him
According to former Premier League ace and current journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft (h/t The Sun), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to become the Norway manager if Manchester United sack him from the job.
The 48-year-old has come under a lot of scrutiny after he suffered a horrific 5-0 defeat against arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. Fans were in dismay at what they were seeing as the club’s expensively assembled squad got destroyed so easily by one of their biggest enemies in the game.
The form, however, has been patchy for over a month now and there has been a lot of commotion over the Norwegian’s job. Richard Arnold was also thought to cancel all of his meetings on Monday to hold crunch talks with Joel Glazer to talk about the future of the manager.
While United will make a decision when they have to, it looks like the former United striker already has another job lined up. Former Premier League ace Jan Aage Fjortoft has explained where Solskjaer could end up if he is sacked by the Red Devils. His tweet read (h/t The Sun):
“[Solskjaer] will, as any manager, eventually get the sack. Then he will take some time off. After that, he will succeed Solbakken (when he says enough is enough) as Norwegian National Coach.”
An international job could be the right way to go as the Norwegian excels in crunch matches and has a good track record of beating the big teams.

However, all of this will come into question only if the Old Trafford hierarchy decide to relieve him of his duties and Stale Solbakken leaves his job as Norway coach.
Solskjaer insisted after the Liverpool game that his side have come too far together to ‘give up’ now, indicating that he aims to stay at the club despite the drubbing. Thus, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 48-year-old as he looks to take United back to the top of English football.
