Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals that The Glazers have not contacted following the Liverpool loss

According to The Express), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he is yet to talk to The Glazers after suffering an embarrassing home defeat at hands of arch-rivals Liverpool.

Old Trafford was completely stunned on Sunday when the Reds came to town for one of the biggest rivalries in English football, Jurgen Klopp’s side meant business and and picked apart the United defence with ease. In fact, it could have gotten much worse had Liverpool not taken their foot off the gas at th hour mark.

After the massive investment this summer, Solskjaer would have been hoping to compete for titles. That faith has however proven misplaced. One point from the last four league games has brought the Red Devils down to 7th place on the table, eight points off the summit.

The defeat to Leicester City last weekend was a wake-up call but there was little Solskjaer did to tweak with his system. He paid the price for it against Jurgen Klopp’s men who were far more clinical. Thus, there has understandably been some commotion about the Norwegian’s job despite the 48-year-old signing a new contract earlier this summer.

However, the former Cardiff manager had a completely different opinion on it as he reiterated that he has the backing of the club hierarchy, atleast for now. While that may be true for now, it cannot hold up should results fail to improve.

“I’ve heard nothing else, and I’m still thinking about tomorrow’s work.”

Solskjaer takes responsibility for Liverpool loss!

Solskjaer did not appear to put a positive spin on the result. That is understandable given just how poor we were on the night. He admits that everyone at the club is low and accepted responsibility for the result.

“We are all low. I can’t say I have felt worse than this. I accept the responsibility. That is mine today and mine going forwards.”

While taking account is well and god, it will matter for little unless changes are made. Clearly the system we have right now is not working.

The frustration could be seen on the faces of fans after 50 minutes when Mo Salah popped his hat-trick and made it 5-0 to Liverpool on the day. However, after Paul Pogba was sent off for his reckless challenge, the stadium started to empty out.

Thus, only time will tell whether The Glazers pull the plug on their man. Big decisions need to be made.
