Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shows dismay over question of Manchester United players playing for his future

Speaking to reporter Des Kelly of BT Sport (h/t The Sun), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained how his players are the luckiest in the world for representing Manchester United.

The Red Devils have endured a rough patch of form in recent weeks and dropped points for a third consecutive week in the Premier League over the weekend. There was criticism regarding the manager as well as the players after the horrible performance.

However, in what was a representation of the Norwegian’s time at Old Trafford, United made a scintillating comeback against Atalanta in the second half after going down 2-0 in the first half. Goals from Marcus RashfordHarry Maguire, and Cristiano Ronaldo ensured that the club top their group with the victory.

While that was the case, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was annoyed with a journalist when he was asked whether the players were playing for his future. Solskjaer told BT Sport’s Des Kelly (h/t The Sun):

‘Don’t even start! Don’t disrespect the players. They played for Manchester United, and they’re the luckiest men in the world. I said that to them.

‘Tonight, they are the luckiest men in the world, the XI plus the subs, they’re the ones that can play for United, and that’s what so many millions of boys and girls want to do.’

Old Trafford was buzzing from the first moment as the Stretford end was continuously chanting Solskjaer’s name. However, Ronaldo certainly brought the roof down when he completed the come-back 10 minutes from time.

There is a lot of commotion over the future of the Norwegian boss but performances like these have often indicated that the players, as well as the fans, are completely behind him.
