Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes delivers verdict on his playing style after Atalanta performance
Speaking after the game (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes revealed that he will not change his playing style despite giving the ball away during the Atalanta game.
The 27-year-old has been one of the chief creators for the club in recent seasons and showcased his brilliance against Atalanta as well. The Red Devils were down by 2 goals in the second half but completed a brilliant come-back in the second half as they put three past the Italian outfit.
Fernandes was the creator for Rashford’s opener and Maguire’s equalizer, thanks to his incredible vision. However, he was giving the ball away at times in the first half leading to frustration amongst the fans.
The Portuguese international has now defended his playing style by stating that his passes need to be risky. He told reporters after the game (h/t Manchester Evening News):
“It was one of them you have to take a risk sometimes, sometimes I don’t take as many risks as I did in the first half when I missed many passes, but I have to try because I have to find my strikers.
“Sometimes I know the pass is difficult or the chance to get in is not quite there, but I want to respect the movement of my strikers. I [made] the mistakes but give me best to help my teammates to score goals. We trust our best to give chances to our strikers.”
