Manchester United players believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has two games to save his job
Speaking to SunSport, a source has claimed that Manchester United players believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has two games to save his job after a poor run of results.
The Red Devils are going through a rough patch of form that has seen them come out of the Top 4, get eliminated in the Carabao Cup while they are also 3rd in their UEFA Champions League group. While the club have backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the players are said to be of a different opinion.
The UCL clash against Atalanta and the Premier League derby against Liverpool on Sunday are viewed as extremely crucial results by some players and defeats in those games could spell doomsday for their Norwegian boss.
A source told SunSport:
“Some of the players think Solskjaer has two games and that if United don’t win these two games, he could leave. They’re such important matches for the club in the Champions League and Premier League.
“It is a bad situation at the moment. It’s hard to see a big future for Solskjaer if United don’t win these games.”
Understandably, every game matters for the 48-year-old from hereon in. A defeat to Atalanta on Wednesday could put the Red Devils on the last spot in their UCL group if Villarreal get a favourable result against BSC Young Boys.

Similarly, if they do suffer a loss against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford, it will not go down well with fans while they could also drop out of the Top 6. The feeling in the dressing room is said to be similar to the one in March when United were defeated by Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-final as the players felt that Solskjaer is not the right man.
However, the Norwegian pulled himself out of a slump back then and could just do so again as he looks to motivate his team to pick up a string of victories.
