Manchester United fans react as Scott McTominay scores late goal to hand Scotland crucial WCQ win vs Israel

Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay, scored a 94th-minute goal for Scotland against Israel in their FIFA World Cup qualifiers game on Saturday.

The Scottish side faced Israel in a crucial Group F encounter at Hampden Park. The visitors raced to a 1-0 lead within five minutes through an Eran Zahavi free-kick, putting the home team on the back foot early on.

John McGinn equalized for Steve Clarke’s side around the half-hour mark before Munas Dabbur put Israel in front again just two minutes later.

A second assist on the night from Andrew Robertson ensured that Lyndon Dykes equalized for the hosts 10 minutes into the second half, but as it stood, Scotland would have been just 1 point ahead of Israel in second place in their group.

A late corner kick from John McGinn found its way to Scott McTominay at the back post, who bundled home a late winner to send fans into euphoria. This was the midfielder’s first senior goal for Scotland as he capped off an impressive display with a memorable winner.

McTominay started the game in an unconventional position, which was akin to playing as almost a third centre-back. The dynamic and versatile midfielder excelled in his role and Manchester United fans were on hand to react to his late winner.

After the win, McTominay’s nation are placed second in their group, 7 points behind leaders Denmark and 4 points ahead of Israel in third place.
