Transfer News: Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland delivers huge blow to Manchester United amidst Real Madrid links
According to Spanish publication AS (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United have been handed a blow by Erling Haaland as he looks to join Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
Los Blancos had a rather quiet summer transfer window as they lost some of their main stars in Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. However, the 13-time European Champions are out to set a marker next summer.
It is thought that Florentino Perez is going to get Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe to sign a pre-contract in January itself, whom they tried to sign this summer but failed in their efforts to do so. However, they will now use those funds to acquire Haaland from Dortmund.
The Norwegian is also apparently keen on a move to the Spanish capital and his agent Mino Raiola has made it clear to the German outfit that his client would like to leave Signal Iduna Park at the first chance he gets, according to AS (h/t The Mirror).
This would be a huge blow to United, who were believed to be favourites to land the 21-year-old’s signature. The youngster has delivered for the Bundesliga club in the last one and a half years by knocking in 68 goals in 67 games.

Thus, United would have landed a goal monster. While the Red Devils could still try and orchestrate a move for the striker, it remains to be seen whether the player himself is interested in reuniting with his former Molde manager.
Haaland is said to become available next summer for a fee in the region of £65-90million. Thus, if United do possess the finances, they could lure the Norwegian away from his dream move to Spain next summer.
