Rangers defender Nathan Patterson addresses talks about his future amidst interest from Manchester United
Speaking in an interview (h/t Glasgow Times), Manchester United transfer target Nathan Patterson addresses talks about his future at Rangers.
The 19-year-old right-back has made quite an impression at the Ibrox. He is one of Steven Gerrard’s prized young assets and went on to attract Everton and Rafael Benitez’s interest this summer.
But no move materialized, and now, the Red Devils have been linked with the teenager. Patterson has himself addressed the interest in his services from some of Europe’s top clubs.
However, he claims that he will not let the talk get to his head and that his focus remains on Rangers and the goals that he has set for himself at the Scottish side.
Patterson to MUFC?
“Yes, that was obviously nice to see that teams are interested but I am only interested in playing football. That’s the stuff that comes with it and I am not really aware of anything that happens, I just go on the pitch and do my thing and let the outside talk.”
The youngster got his first Premiership start this Sunday as Rangers beat Hibernian to cement their place at the top of the Scottish Premiership. And he believes that the hard work for him has just started.
“I have been working really hard with all the coaches that have been helping me along the way and any time I get the opportunity I need to make sure I am ready to prove myself. I feel as if I have done that but I need to keep pushing on and hopefully get more opportunities.”

The need for a right-back is there with Aaron Wan-Bissaka lacking a quality backup that can compete for starts. Whether 19-year-old Patterson is eyed by United for that role despite having Brandon Williams and Diogo Dalot in and around that same age bracket remains to be seen.
