Solskjaer: Manchester United set to welcome back Marcus Rashford after the international break
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Marcus Rashford is nearing a return to action and is raring to go.
The Red Devils star has not seen action for the club since his shoulder surgery earlier in the summer. Having seen him struggle physically towards the end of last season, it was prudent to let him go under the knife and recuperate.
Solskjaer’s men have since won a number of games but lack the killer instinct. Cristiano Ronaldo has been our major source of goals and the return of Rashford will make the attack more potent.
According to the report, Rashford is expected to return to action following October’s international break. He could make the cut for our trip to Leicester City on the 16th of next month.
Rashford has been an ever-present for United since debuting as a teenager in 2016. He has since made 271 appearances in all competitions, scoring 88 goals and assisting 56 more. He also represented England at the Euros earlier this summer.
Solskjaer believes the extended break will have done Rashford good. He was due some time off having put his body on the line the past few years. He will hopefully return to action in top shape, ready to fire us to glory.
“Probably the longest he’s been out but he’s needed it.”
The United boss also revealed that the 23-year-old is putting the necessary work in on the training ground as he prepares for his return.
“He looks raring to go, happy and he knows he’s missed out on pre-season, but he’s done loads of good conditioning work and should be ready soon.”
Rashford is keen to make our blockbuster clash against Liverpool next month. If he does return a per Solskjaer’s estimate, there is every reason he can feature against Jurgen Klopp’s men at Old Trafford on the 24th.
