AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho refuses to comment on potential move for Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot

Speaking in his latest press conference (h/t Daily Star) AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has refused to comment on any potential move for Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot.

The 22-year-old joined the Old Trafford outfit in the summer of 2018, during Jose Mourinho’s last season as United manager. Although the Portuguese manager left at the end of that year, Dalot has remained at the club and is currently a backup in the right-back role to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Although the full-back was on loan to AC Milan last year, Solskjaer has kept the youngster at the club this summer. In fact, the Norwegian boss apparently blocked the Portuguese’s move to Borussia Dortmund in the latest transfer window.

That was a clever move since the Red Devils had already sanctioned loan deals for the likes of Axel Tuanzebe, Ethan Laird, and Brandon Williams, while they also failed to sign Kieran Trippier.

So far, Dalot has not started a single Premier League game this season, and Roma might now try to get a January deal done for the youngster. The Italian club have been linked with the right-back recently, but while that is the case, Jose Mourinho refused to comment on the topic in his latest press conference, saying (h/t Daily Star):

“The transfer window is closed, you want to put me in the condition to talk, but I am not going to do it. I analyse situations, but I can’t share all my thoughts with you. I do not enter these dynamics.”

Thus, the 58-year-old’s tight-lipped nature gives little indication of whether the Serie A side will try to make a formalized offer for Dalot in January.

Regardless, it remains to be seen whether United themselves would be interested in letting go of their backup full-back mid-way through the season.
