Tim Sherwood believes Cristiano Ronaldo will become a Manchester United manager soon
Speaking to Ladbrokes (h/t Caught Offside), Tim Sherwood has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to become a Manchester United manager in 18 months.
Ronaldo joined United for his first stint in 2003 and then left for Real Madrid in 2009. The Portuguese was just a 24-year-old winger at the time, but he has now made the return to Old Trafford in the form of a leader.
Since coming back, the 36-year-old has proved to be crucial in all three games he has featured in. In the club’s Champions League defeat against Young Boys recently, the striker poked home from close distance to give United the lead.
However, something else that happened during the game was that the Portuguese was shouting out instructions from the touchline after he was substituted. Additionally, he was also seen having a word in the ear of one of his teammates before the West Ham game.
Former Tottenham player and manager Tim Sherwood now believes that the talisman will become a Manchester United manager in 18 months. He told Ladbrokes (h/t Caught Offside):
“I think it’s OK that Ronaldo’s on the touchline, and Ole’s going to have to accept it. If he brings him to his football club you’ve got to know what you’re bringing in.
“We’ve seen him do it on the international stage, most recently at the Euros, barking out orders. That boy will be a manager 100%. I would have a bet on him being Manchester United manager in 18 months. Whenever Ronaldo finishes playing I think he will become a manager, it will be an automatic choice.”

Sherwood also explained that if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not win silverware in the next year and a half, the 36-year-old forward could replace him.
While this could be a good fit, there is very little known on the Portuguese’s ambitions of a managerial job or his capabilities in that role. Regardless, Ronaldo will focus on driving his club to silverware under Solskjaer for now.
