Rivaldo admits that Cristiano Ronaldo made the right decision in returning to Manchester United

According to Betfair (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has been lauded for his decision to return to the club this summer by Brazilian legend Rivaldo.

The 36-year-old returned to Old Trafford 12 years after originally leaving the club for Real Madrid in 2009. Since then he has gone on to establish himself as one of the greatest ever to play the game.

Now back at United, it is as if Ronaldo was never away. He has so far scored four goals in three games as the Red Devils keep pace with Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

Ronaldo’s success upon his return does not come as a surprise to Brazilian legend Rivaldo who has given a glowing assesment of the player’s capabilities. He believes the attacker’s abilities and personality make him a force to be reckoned with.

“This is no surprise as Ronaldo is the kind of player with the skills, experience, and personality to make an immediate impact.”

Rivaldo also gave his assent to the player’s decision to return to United over Real Madrid. He not only has an adoring fanbase waiting for him at the Theatre of Dreams but also has the media fawning over him.

“Ronaldo made the right decision by signing for United instead of Real Madrid cause in England he has more media support and United fans love him.”

Ronaldo had the best years of his career at Madrid where he transcended expectations and evolved into something superhuman. While that may be true, he never quite captured the imagination of the fans as he did so at United.

At Old Trafford, he can be more than just a player. The supporters are suitably ecstatic and revere him. The atmosphere at the game against Newcastle United was testament to just that. In many ways, Ronaldo has not just returned to United, but rather come back home.
