Ole Gunnar Solskjaer calls for patience with Manchester United youngster Jadon Sancho
According to Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels that the former Borussia Dortmund forward, Jadon Sancho needs some time to settle at Manchester United.
The Manchester City academy product had an impressive time with the German club as he scored 50 goals and recorded 58 assists in 137 appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has been a priority for Ole for a long time now. The Red Devils finally landed him for £73million. It was a particularly impressive transfer window as it saw other superstars like Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo come to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has come back to the Premier League in scintillating fashion and already scored 3 goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season. Sancho, meanwhile, is still taking his time to adapt to his new team.
Sancho is yet to complete a full 90 minutes in a red jersey. The winger had to be sacrificed for Diago Dalot in the first half against Young Boys in the UCL after Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off in the Champions League fixture.
Solskjaer believes that the youngster can be an important part of this Manchester United attack for years to come. However, he insisted that he needs time and patience, saying,
“He is a young boy, he is only 21, he will only improve, we signed him because we see a top forward for 10-12-15 years and I have not changed my mind on that, he is so clean on the ball and he has got the enthusiasm to learn.”
The Red Devils manager further commented on the youngster by saying,
“He is learning all the time, in training as well, he is learning our training methods. He is learning the Premier League, of course, he knows the Champions League from Dortmund.”
