Robbie Keane backs Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo to win Premier League Golden Boot

Speaking in an interview (h/t Tribal Football), Robbie Keane believes Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will shine in the Premier League this year.

The 36-year-old, who signed for the Old Trafford outfit on deadline day from Juventus, has scored goals everywhere he has gone. The Portuguese had an incredible scoring record during his first spell with the Red Devils, as he managed 118 goals in 292 appearances before he left in 2009 for Real Madrid.

The forward then shattered records at the Spanish capital as he scored 450 goals for the La Liga giants and then completed a move to Turin as he joined hands with Juventus. The 36-year-old showed his class again as he scored 101 goals for the Old Lady in just three seasons at the club.

Thus, Robbie Keane naturally did not take too long to answer when he was asked whether the Portuguese is past his best. Keane answered in an interview (h/t Tribal Football):

“His mentality is completely different, and the reason why he’s still playing at 36 years of age, the reason why he’s in that unbelievable shape. Unfortunately, he scored two goals in the last few minutes against Ireland, which was gutting for me, but that just goes to show how good he is and how important he is to Portugal and obviously now to Man Utd. I’ve got no doubt he could finish top goal scorer in the Premier League”.

The forward also has a great track record of scoring in European games while he is also a serial winner.

Thus, Ronaldo’s mere presence could also boost United’s game as a whole and if things go according to the plan of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it could be a real possibility that the 36-year-old wins the Premier League Golden Boot this season.
