Transfer News: Marcelo Brozovic could be pursued by Manchester United
According to Manchester Evening News (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United could make a move for Inter Milan midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic, in January.
The Croatian midfielder is a potential option for the Red Devils if they want to sign a central midfielder. The club made three signings this summer but none of them are players that can play in the middle of the park.
Jadon Sancho arrived in a high-profile move from Borussia Dortmund. Raphael Varane soon followed suit from Real Madrid before Cristiano Ronaldo’s much-awaited return was announced.
United have a decent roster of midfielders including Fred, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, and Nemanja Matic. But at times, fans have felt the need of having another quality holding midfielder.
Brozovic to MUFC?
Brozovic can be just that. The Croatian international is a top player who has impressed in Serie A for just over 5 years since his move from Dinamo Zagreb in 2016.
The Red Devils were also keen on Declan Rice but West Ham United’s £100million valuation makes him an expensive signing. It remains to be seen if United actually pursue someone come January.
But if they do, 28-year-old Brozovic would not be a bad option at all. Paul Pogba’s future is still uncertain as he enters the final 12 months of his Man United deal.
