Manchester United fans pleased with Anthony Martial after his goal rescues France vs Ukraine
Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial, scored for France after five years since his first international goal as he led his team to a draw vs Ukraine.
Martial’s first goal for Les Bleus came in a friendly against Italy in a 3-1 win back in September 2016. And now, he has his first competitive goal as France drew against the Ukrainians in a FIFA World Cup qualifiers game.
The former AS Monaco attacker started for Didier Deschamps’ side with Antoine Griezmann and Kingsley Coman manning the flanks. The home side took the lead just before halftime through a Mykola Shaparenko goal.
With just 5 minutes into the second 45, France overloaded the right flank to put in a tasty cross. Martial was alive and ready inside the box to send in a strong shot from about 5 yards out.

The goalkeeper, Andriy Pyatov, got his body to it but the power of the shot was enough to take it past him. The Frenchman did not have a lot to do apart from his goal.
He was taken off in the 64th minute for Karim Benzema but the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners failed to score again. They did dominate the proceedings but the game ended 1-1.
