Wayne Rooney has a massive net worth of $170million. He earns a whopping $26m per season and is well off when it comes to finances, to say the least. It is not surprising, considering that Rooney was one of the highest-paid footballers around the globe during his playing career.
As a manager, the 35-year-old pockets £90,000 per week at Derby County and is the highest-paid employee at the EFL Championship club currently. However, it was reported earlier this year that the Manchester United great had deferred a portion of his salary so that his players get paid, with the club in dire straits financially.

Rooney began playing for Liverpool Schoolboys and scored 72 goals in one season, a then-record that caught the attention of a number of teams.
He was scouted by Everton’s Bob Pendleton and joined the club at the age of nine. He scored goals for fun and rose swiftly through the club’s ranks. The 17-year-old was sent to train with the Everton first team during their 2002 pre-season.
He made his senior competitive bow the same year and rose to stardom following a stunning strike against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, ending their 30-match winning streak. He ended up moving to Manchester United in 2004 in a £27million deal, becoming the world’s most expensive teenager at the time.
