Report: Man United’s stance on Amad Diallo loan move amid Sheffield United interest

Manchester United have invested heavily in youth in recent years

Manchester United are ‘cautious’ about letting Amad Diallo leave on a loan move

According to the Manchester Evening News (h/t Football League World), Manchester United are ‘cautious’ to let Amad Diallo leave the club on a loan move this summer.

The Red Devils are keen on letting the youngster get consistent playing time and will only let him leave on a loan deal to a club that can guarantee considerable minutes to the player this season.

The Old Trafford outfit, who already possessed the likes of Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, and Anthony Martial in their squad, added to it handsomely this summer by signing long-term target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho, like Diallo, plays on the right-wing, courtesy of which the Ivorian may fall down the pecking order at the club. Thus, a loan move would beneficial to all partite concerned, and there have been several clubs that have been interested in signing the player this summer.

Sheffield United have been continuously linked with the player this summer as the Blades are interested in procuring the winger’s services. Additionally, Diallo’s former club, Atalanta, are also interested in bringing the player back to Italy, and they can provide the player with the prospect of Champions League football.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old wants a move to the Premier League.

While that is Diallo’s stance, United would be happy as long as the Ivorian is enjoying first-team football on a consistent basis. Since his move to United in January, Diallo has only managed 3 Premier League appearances for the club and also missed the club’s pre-season campaign this summer as he was away on international duty at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Thus, while a move may be on the cards, certain conditions will need to be fulfilled before the Red Devils sanction a loan deal for the 19-year-old.
