Manchester United are eager to make a move for Kylian Mbappe
According to RMC Sport (h/t ESPN), Kylian Mbappe has rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s contract pffer amidst links to Manchester United and Real Madrid.
The French superstar has been staring at an uncertain future at PSG all summer and the 22-year-old has now apparently refused a contract extension, with only a year left on his current deal.
United, who have wrapped up two incredible signings in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, would be keen on adding more firepower to their frontline. Although the club do possess the likes of Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Mason Greenwood, and Marcus Rashford in their frontline, that might not be the case in the future.
Edinson Cavani’s contract is set to expire next year, while Anthony Martial has also been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer. In such a situation, United could sign a centre-forward in Kylian Mbappe, who could prove to be beneficial for years to come due to his young age.
Moreover, his goal-scoring abilities will also help United compete for the biggest titles. The Frenchman managed to score 42 goals and provide 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for PSG last season as helped the club reach the Champions League semi-final.
The 22-year-old has begun in fine form again this season as he has already managed to score 1 goal and provide 2 assists in 3 Ligue 1 appearances.

Although United are keen on securing the player’s signature, they will face stiff competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are also eyeing a move for the World Cup winner.
While PSG are interested in keeping the 22-year-old at the club this season, United could enter into a pre-contract agreement with the player in January itself, which would entail Mbappe to join the Manchester-based club on a free transfer next summer. However, it remains to be seen which club the French superstar chooses to join.
