Transfer News: Man United told the minimum price they would have to pay for Noni Madueke

Manchester United learn the asking price of Noni Madueke

According to the Mirror (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United have been told that the bidding for Noni Madueke will ‘start at £40million’.

The Englishman has attracted interest from nearly 10 clubs after his impressive performances with PSV Eindhoven.

Madueke has already scored five goals in seven games for the Dutch outfit this season while he has also provided an assist in the process. The youngster has played a crucial role in the club’s surge to the UEFA Champions League group stages, with the club now in the play-off tie against Benfica.

A former Tottenham Hotspur man, Madueke captained the Lilywhites in the u-16 age group while he also made his debut at the club as a 15-year-old.

Manchester United’s representatives were at the 1st leg of PSV’s play-off tie against Benfica, which the Dutch club ended up losing 2-1. The Red Devils have shown a keen interest in the player as they also approached him when he left Tottenham, however, the 19-year-old signed for PSV instead.

While that was the case then, a lot could change in the near future. If PSV fail to win the 2nd leg against Benfica this week, they will not be a part of the Champions League group stages this year. This, in turn, could play a part in Madueke’s decision to stay at the club.

United, on the other hand, can provide the youngster with the prospect of competing actively in the Premier League and Champions League, although there is no certainty on how many games he will feature in for the Red Devils.

However, for now, United could pay Eindhoven’s £40million asking price to sign the youngster and complete a smart signing because, given the player’s age and talent, he could certainly benefit the club in the future if not in the present.
