Manchester United fans react as Tahith Chong continues to impress on loan at Birmingham City

Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong is making waves at Birmingham City where he is currently on loan for the 2021/22 season.

The youngster has so far made two appearances for the Blues and has left an indelible impression on Birmingham fans with his performances. Although they fell to Bournemouth, Chong stood out as a shining beacon of hope on the night.

The 21-year-old for all his talent is yet to make a proper mark at United. There is clearly a promising player in the Dutchman. Whether he will reach that potential or fall by the wayside remains to be seen.

Moving to Birmingham is admittedly a step-down but the promise of more playtime could help draw out his abilities to the fore. The onus is now on the player to impress and he appears to be doing just that.

Chong currently has one year remaining on his contract. United however have the option of a further year. He joined the club from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2016 and won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in 2019 and the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year award in 2019.

His loan spell at Werder Bremen last season was a disaster. He lasted just half a season, after which he shifted to Brugge until the end of the 2020/21 campaign. He enjoyed better fortunes in Belgium, scoring once and assisting four more in just 13 appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)
