Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals he has had positive conversations with Manchester United star Paul Pogba
According to The Independent, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he had positive conversations with Paul Pogba regarding his future at the club.
The French international is currently in the final year of his contract and could walk away for free next year. Pogba is our record signing and the possibility of watching him walk away for nothing is a sobering prospect. While the likes of Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the player, where exactly his future lies is anyone’s guess.
Pogba, for his part, does not appear to be too enthusiastic about returning to the French capital. His agent, Mino Raiola has already confirmed that the player’s decision will be influenced by his chances of winning silverware.
Solskjaer, for his part, believes Old Trafford is as good a place as any for the player to achieve his dreams. While the Norwegian is yet to lead United to silverware, Pogba has won the Europa League and the League Cup during his stay at the club.
“I hope every player thinks this is the place to be to win trophies.”
Solskjaer praised Pogba’s attitude and confirmed that he has had talks with him. While it has all been positive so far, he is yet to pen a fresh deal. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Pogba joined up with the rest of the squad in St Andrews and returned to training this week. One certainly cannot accuse the Frenchman of slacking off.
“When you sign for Manchester United, you have to rise to the challenge. Paul has come back and he’s fresh and he’s always such a positive boy. The talks I’ve had with him have all been positive.”
It was reported by reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano that PSG are now interested in Lionel Messi. The footballing legend looks set to leave Barcelona and could end up costing the French side a massive chunk in wages. Whether this lavish investment will influence their pursuit of Pogba remains to be seen.
The French giants have already enjoyed a productive summer that saw them sign Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, and Gianluigi Donnarumma. While adding Pogba would be the cherry on the top, whether it happens or not is to be seen.
