Jadon Sancho could join Manchester United first-team training soon
According to Manchester Evening News, summer signing Jadon Sancho is expected to report to Manchester United first-team training later this week, on Friday.
Manchester United, who are currently in Scotland for their pre-season training camp, have not been joined by their blockbuster signing of the summer, Jadon Sancho.
The 21-year-old signed for Manchester United in a move worth £72.9million earlier this summer. The Englishman was at the United training complex on the 13th of July to sign the contract and to complete his move – nearly three weeks ago.
The player was expected to have a three-week break after the end of the European Championship. Thus, this automatically ruled Sancho out leaving with his new teammates to Scotland which is the club’s second pre-season training camp, following a week at Pennyhill Park last month.
Since signing the contract, Sancho has been on holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands, southeast of the Bahamas. However, with the player expected to report to training on Friday, there is a possibility that he could feature in Manchester United’s last pre-season game of this campaign which is scheduled to be played against Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday.
However, there is no certainty on when the player will be back in training after the dates were delayed for a couple of Man United stars due to the quarantine rules. Paul Pogba, whose break extended to nearly five weeks due to the early elimination of France, returned to Manchester last Thursday but was only allowed to travel to Scotland on Tuesday.
Thus, with quarantine delaying the return of certain players, it remains to be seen when Sancho reports to Manchester United, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping that the player starts training with the first-team before the start of the new Premier League season on the 14th of August.
