Injury News: Man United hopeful of having 23-year-old Englishman fit for new season

According to ESPN, Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are hopeful of having right-back Aaron-wan-Bissaka ready for the start of the new season.

The defender who has played in all three pre-season fixtures for United so far picked up an injury but was still passed fit to travel to United’s pre-season training camp in St. Andrews, Scotland.

However, the defender has been placed in an individual training programme as a precaution, which could not be the best news given that United will start their new Premier League season in less than two weeks.

The Red Devils, who have tried to secure the services of Kieran Trippier this summer, do not seem to have enough cover at right-back, courtesy of which Wan-Bissaka made 54 appearances in all competitions last season – something that could have been tiring for the 23-year-old.

Moreover, there is also no guarantee on whether Wan Bissaka will play United’s last pre-season game of this campaign, which is scheduled against Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Wan-Bissaka was one of the most consistent figures at the back for United last season, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to have the player fit and ready for the new season. However, Solskjaer will be boosted by the fitness of his other full-back, Luke Shaw.

The left-back, who has returned from international duty and holiday, has been given the go-ahead by the medical staff to train fully despite carrying a rib injury during the Euros with England.

Manchester United will commence the 2021/22 Premier League campaign against Leeds United on the 14th of August, a day when Solskjaer will be hoping to slot both Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw into the starting line-up.
