Manchester United target Ruben Neves hints at Wolves stay
According to Mirror, Manchester United target Ruben Neves has hinted that he may stay back at Wolves. The Portuguese midfielder was keen on working with new manager Bruno Lage after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo. Arsenal were also said to be interested in him.
The Portuguese international is one of the best young midfielders in the league. A seasoned midfielder too, the 24-year-old is at the right point in his career to take the next step. He is yet to reach his prime and United could have him for the best years of his career.
A central part of Wolves, it was of the belief that he would be leaving cor a bigger club after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo. Wolves recently underwent a managerial shuffle with Nuno Espirito Santo departing for Tottenham. Bruno Lage was appointed as the new boss.
Neves hints at Wolves stay
Arsenal had registered their interest in the midfielder. However, Manchester United had also entered the fray. Amidst all the speculation, Neves has hinted that he might just stay back at Wolves to feature under Bruno Lage.
“He’s a very good coach. I am really happy to work with him. I spoke with a few friends when he signed for Wolves – that were players in Benfica and are good friends of mine – and they said a lot of good things about him. I can see it now. He’s a very good coach with lots of good ideas. I think that when things are completely together, we’ll be a really hard team to beat.”
