Transfer News: AC Milan plot late move for Diogo Dalot that could impact Manchester United plans for Trippier
According to transfer news from Express, AC Milan are plotting a late move for Manchester United starlet Diogo Dalot. They are willing to wait until the end of the transfer window and then sign him. United are in a spot due to that because any deal for Kieran Trippier will be dependent on the sale of Dalot.
The 22-year-old Portuguese full-back spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at the San Siro, playing a part in Milan’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League. While he may not have been an automatic first choice, he made 33 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring twice and providing three assists.

Dalot’s impressive form led to a call-up to the Portugal side for the Euros. While he didn’t really feature in the initial stages, he did go on to play in two of the more important games against France and Belgium. Currently, Dalot is back at United and also featured in the Brentford game.
With United looking to bring in Kieran Trippier, the deal will hinge on Dalot’s successful sale. Unless they sell him first, they cannot get Trippier. Now, AC Milan have put a spanner in the works for United by plotting a late move for Dalot. That would leave United with little to no time in securing Trippier and Atletico would also be reluctant to sell as they would not have time to find a replacement.

Dalot does not seem to be in the plans of Solskjaer despite having one of his better seasons. However, they will need AC Milan to take him off their hands sooner than later if they want to get Trippier in time.
