Transfer News: Solskjaer hopes Paul Pogba signs Manchester United contract

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Manchester United are still in contract talks with Paul Pogba, as the manager spoke after his team’s 4-2 friendly loss to QPR on Saturday (h/t Sky Sports).

The French midfielder is in the last year of his contract at Old Trafford. Failure to sign a new deal means United could risk losing him on a free transfer next year, and PSG are already interested in the midfielder.

But according to the Red Devils boss, Pogba is looking forward to next season and talks are still ongoing with the Frenchman over a new deal.

“The talks are ongoing between Paul’s representatives and the club’s representatives. All that I’ve ever heard with Paul is he’s looking forward to the season.”

Pogba to stay?

And Solskjaer added that there is always speculation around Pogba’s future because he is a quality player. However, he remained coy in his comments over the former Juventus man’s future.

“There’s always speculation about Paul, the talks between Paul and his representatives, I’m not in the detail of every single one, I’ve got nothing to say really, about that. Whenever he has been here, he has been so professional, he’s always ready to give everything for the team and that will be the case if Paul stays here, or he might stay for even longer.”

This comes as good news for United fans because it indicates that the club are still making an effort to keep their star midfielder at the club despite interest from PSG.
