Injury News: Manchester United defender Alex Telles suffers ankle problem
According to injury news from Sky Sports, Manchester United will be without Alex Telles for a few weeks. He twisted his ankle in training during the buildup to the QPR friendly and was sent home. Solskjaer addressed the issue and claimed that he would be out for a few weeks.
There was a lot of excitement when United brought in Telles last season. After all, he seemed like a better attacking threat than the options already at the club. However, the Brazilian found himself warming the benches more often than he would have liked as Shaw had one of his best-ever seasons. It was only when Shaw was rested or unavailable that Telles managed to get a rare game.
Telles featured in the Derby game when he got the nod for the second 45 minutes. It was a solid showing if not spectacular. However, in a huge blow to Solskjaer, Telles has suffered an ankle injury and will miss out the next couple of weeks. He could also miss the start of the season.
Solskjaer was hopeful that it isn’t too serious and that he would only be out for a couple of weeks.
“Unfortunately, Alex slipped and he twisted his ankle so he’ll be out for a few weeks. We’re hoping that it’s not going to be too bad but he’ll be out for a little while.”
