Manchester United team news vs Derby County
According to team news from Metro, Manchester United have given a hint as to which players will be involved against Derby County. A mix of senior players and academy stars are set to line up in the first pre-season game for United this season.
Manchester United’s eyes are firmly set on the coming season. This will be the first time in two seasons that Solskjaer will get a proper pre-season and training. United’s first of five opponents are Derby County, managed by Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney.
In terms of team news, the major issue for Solskjaer will be the unavailability of the senior stars. All those players that took part in the Euros and Copa America are on holiday. Nonetheless, not all of the senior members are on holiday. Stars such as Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are all there.
Lee Grant and new signing Tom Heaton will likely share the duties in goal. A lot of academy stars have been called up not just to make up the numbers. The likes of Will Fish, Di’Shon Bernard, Ethan Galbraith, Joe Hugill, Shola Shoretire, Dylan Levitt, Anthony Elanga, Hannibal, Teden Mengi, Facundo Pellistri and James Garner have all been training with the first-team and are expected to get minutes.
