Transfer News: Nottingham Forest want James Garner on loan

According to transfer news from Nottinghamshire Live, Nottingham Forest want Manchester United starlet James Garner on loan. Forest are not the only side interested in the 20-year-old. Norwich, West Brom, Brighton and Rangers are also keen on Garner.

The 20-year-old was loaned to Watford last summer. He had a brilliant start to life in the Championship as he played in all but one of their opening 19 league games. However, a managerial change meant that Garner found it hard to get minutes at Vicarage Road.

Hence, the loan deal was terminated midway through the season. Garner then went to two-time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest on loan for the remainder of the season. Currently, he is back from his loan spell as his future is being evaluated.

Forest have shown considerable interest in getting Garner back on loan after his impressive spell. However, they are not the only ones. From the Premier League, Brighton and newly promoted Norwich have shown interest. Also, Rangers and West Brom have added themselves to the list of suitors.

United are very likely to loan out Garner as hinted by Solskjaer. However, nothing will be decided until August as he will feature in the pre-season games for United. It means that Forest will have to wait for a while before they can get Garner back on loan.

Keeping Garner at United would be a brave call especially if another midfielder arrives. The Englishman is a talented player and will need regular games to progress. For now, sending him out on loan would be the safest option.
