Report: Manchester United will need to fork out £100m plus two stars in exchange for Harry Kane

According to Football Insider, Manchester United will need to pay around £100m plus two stars in exchange for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.

The English skipper is one of the Premier League’s top players and one of the world’s best strikers. Adding him to our roster would give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer possibly the best attack in the league on paper.

The Red Devils are currently in pole position to land Kane and appear keen to get the deal over the line. The English ace is enjoying a good Euros and came to life in the knockout stages, scoring key goals.

According to the report, Spurs have given United hope that a deal could be agreed upon in the coming weeks. It will however not come cheap. The Londoners have asked for £100million plus two first-team stars in part exchange.

Tottenham’s had maintained that it would take around £150m in cash to force a deal for their star man. That stand however appears to have softened of late. With Manchester City and Chelsea also interested, United face a fight on their hands to land the striker.

As things stand, it is unclear who exactly the first-team stars who could be offered are. It promises to be an interesting few weeks where more details could come to light.

Kane is contracted to Spurs until 2024 and collected the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker award last season. The length left on his deal gives Daniel Levy enough leeway in negotiations. It is conceivable that his stock could rise further if he leads England to glory this weekend at Wembley.

More Manchester United News

Kane has already made clear his ambition to move elsewhere this summer. Tottenham are set for another rebuild under Nuno Espirito Santo and it is debatable if they can win silverware in the next couple of years. Having given a number of years to the club, it is understandable why Kane is keen to move on.

With Jadon Sancho already in the bag, adding Kane will make United a fearsome opponent going forward. A front line of Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane and Sancho is good news not just for United but also for the English national team.
