Manchester United kept a close watch on Adrien Rabiot during the Euros
According to The Daily Star, Manchester United sent scouts to keep a watch on Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot ahead of a potential move this summer.
The 26-year-old has played in all four matches in France’s campaign this summer at the Euros. He featured in the 120 minutes of last night’s last 16 tie against Switzerland. It was a forgettable night for Les Blues who were eliminated on penalties.
While Rabiot did play regularly, his performances however were nothing to write about. He started in a new role against the Swiss and struggled to adapt to the new role.
It can be argued that Rabiot did an acceptable job on the left flank. However, that is not an area that United need reinforcement in. A midfielder would add more depth and midfield is where Rabiot thrives.
Rabiot moved to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer of 2018. His time in Italy has been a mixed bag of success so far. The French ace has made 84 appearances for the Turin giants, scoring six goals and assisting four more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Whether he is ready for a chance of scenery and move to United remains to be seen. Rabiot despite his difficulties remains an excellent player yet to hit his prime. United could benefit enormously if they can land him for a fair price this summer.

Another United target on the show for France was defender Raphael Varane. It was a difficult night for the Real Madrid man, who saw two late goals go in, denying France a ticket to the last eight. Now that he is set to return home, it remains to be seen if the efforts to bring him to United will gather pace.
