Raphael Varane ready to move to Manchester United move following Euro exit with France
According to The Independent (h/t The Express), French star Raphael Varane has made up his mind to move to Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils are in the market for a centre-back and the 28-year-old is on the top of their list. With Real Madrid in a period of transition, a new challenge appears to be on the horizon for the French international.
Currently, in his prime, there are few players in world football better than Varane. Pairing him alongside skipper Harry Maguire could give us the impetus to build a championship-winning side at Old Trafford.
According to the report, Real are also ready to part ways with Varane. With just a year left on his contract, they are best advised to cash in now than risk losing him for free.
Paris Saint-Germain is also an option for the defender. With his Euro 2020 participation coming to a premature end, Varane now has a decision to make this summer. While his heart appears to be set on a move to Old Trafford, it remains to be seen what card PSG choose to play.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that Los Blancos have not received any official bids for Varane. He has also placed the onus on making a decision on the player. With Sergio Ramos also set to leave on a free, losing Varane will see the Spaniards lose the first-choice centre-back pairing that brought them so much success.
Varane is not the only La Liga defender on the Red Devils radar. Villarreal ace Pau Torres is another player who is being monitored.
