Manchester United star Marcus Rashford unsure about surgery post Euros
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has admitted that a decision needs to be made regarding his surgery following the Euros.
The Red Devils ace looked set to go under the knife after this summer’s European Championship. However, that does not appear to be set in stone.
Rashford goes as far as to confirm that he remains unsure if surgery is needed at all. He is set to make the decision this summer once he returns home after his stint with England.
“It’s either an operation or I don’t get an operation.”
“I’m not 100 per cent sure if I need it yet, so I’ll just take it as it comes. I’ll finish strong here and I’ve got a few weeks off to just relax and decide what I’m going to do.”
Rashford was United second top-scorer and assist-getter last season, trailing only Bruno Fernandes in both categories. However, this came after he soldiered on despite shoulder and foot injuries.
The player also remains unsure of whether he will miss the beginning of the new season if he undergoes surgery. He admits that there was no possibility of him undergoing surgery mid-season and now has to make a decision in the coming weeks.
“The reason I don’t know is that when the season was going, and before I came here, I knew there was no chance I was going to be getting the operation, so I did not know how long the operation would put me out for.”
The bigger picture
Rashford is yet to make a single start for England at the Euros so far. The Three Lions take on Germany next and it remains to be seen whether the United ace will make the cut.
Not only will Rashford need a holiday after the long season but will need time for recovery from surgery.

Despite his age, Rashford has made over 300 senior appearances for club and country. As we have seen over the last two seasons, it is beginning to take a toll on his body.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should also shoulder some of the blame for what can be argued as poor management of Rashford’s game time. It is incredible to think that despite his injuries, the English ace has missed just four matches all season.
The last thing we want is for Rashford to get burnt out and follow in the footsteps of Michael Owen or Robbie Fowler.
