Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund to battle for Christos Tzolis
According to Dutch outlet Voetbal Krant (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United are interested in young Greek winger Christos Tzolis.
The 19-year-old is one of the best young talents to emerge from the country in recent years and has garnered much attention from a number of clubs from across Europe. He made 46 appearances for the Greek side PAOK last season, scoring 16 goals and assisting 10 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The youngster is already a full Greek international and has made eight appearances for the former European Champions. So far, he has scored one goal for his country. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Our biggest threat in landing the youngster is none other than Borussia Dortmund. Primarily a left-winger, Tzolis is capable of playing anywhere along the frontline. A right-footed player, he has the ability to cut in from the left and attack inside. This fluidity helps build a degree of unpredictability that could help unsettle opposition defences.
Tzolis has also shown at PAOK that he can combine well with the full-back, creating a dominant duo who can overwhelm the opposition on the flanks. Add to it his prolific finishing in front of goal and you have a player capable of making a difference on the field.
Tzolis is still very rough around the edges and will need to iron out the deficiencies in order to make it at a top-level club. As things stand, it makes sense for United to make a move for him and loan out him to the German or French leagues to work out his game.
