Transfer News: Over 60 clubs reach out to Manchester United regarding potential loan deals this summer

It promises to be an interesting summer at the Manchester United academy if the latest transfer news is anything to go by.

According to the club’s official site, academy player performance manager Les Parry has revealed that more than 60 clubs have made contact with the Red Devils in order to arrange a loan move for one of their players this summer.

One particular unnamed player has garnered interest from 20 clubs and goes into the summer as a man in demand. Who this player is remains to be seen.

According to the report, decisions are still to be made on certain individuals. This is because some of them will be required for pre-season with the first-team, thanks to a number of Euro 2020 stars reporting back late.

United understands that the loan market could be oversaturated this summer thanks to the prevailing financial situation. With just a few clubs capable of making big moves, others could try to find value in the loan market if they can.

“It is going to be massive, the loan market, this year because of finances at other clubs.”

The final decision

This is good news for United, who have a number of promising young stars coming through their system. The likes of Hannibal Mejbri, Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi among others are promising but will struggle for game time should they stay on at Old Trafford. Sending them away on loan could prove to be beneficial in the long term.

It would appear that the final decision on who to let go will lie with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian will get a better idea of who to keep and who to let go as the season draws close.

“The manager will make the decisions after the pre-season.”
