“He’s a big boy”: Man United star’s international teammate denies playing agent amid future speculations

Presnel Kimpembe laughs off ludicrous transfer theory regarding Manchester United star Paul Pogba

According to Manchester Evening News, Presnel Kimpembe has laughed off the suggestion that he is using the Euros as an opportunity to convince Paul Pogba to ditch Manchester United for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Red Devils ace is soon to enter his final year at United. Unless he pens a new deal, he will be free to leave at the end of the next season for a Bosman. One of the teams who are keeping a close watch on proceedings are French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Kimpembe who plays for PSG has waved away speculation that he is keen to influence Pogba’s mind regarding a move to the French capital.

“I didn’t discuss it with him.”

The PSG ace believes that any club in world football would be glad to have a talent like Pogba. He, however, goes on to add that the 28-year-old is capable of making his own destiny.

“He’s a big boy, he doesn’t need anyone to make up his mind. Any club would be happy to welcome him.”

As things stand, it would be safe to assume that Pogba is playing his options close to his chest. What his future holds will depend a lot on what he and his agent Mino Raiola have planned for the future.

“It only depends on him, his agent and his future club.”

Coming to the Euros, Kimpembe believes Pogba will play a major role in the World Champions’ efforts to secure the continental gong this summer. The United ace played a stellar role in France’s World Cup win in 2018 and could repeat the trick again this summer.

France kicks off their campaign against Germany in the standout fixture of the first round of matches on Tuesday. With defending champions Portugal also in their group, France will take a huge step towards the knockouts if they can defeat Germany.

It was only last week that Kimpembe and Kingsley Coman pranked Pogba at a media briefing asking him about a possible move to PSG in the future. The United star was, however, on his guard and replied in the affirmative.

As things stand, there is a massive lack of clarity regarding Pogba’s future. United are better off cashing in on him this summer if he is unwilling to pen a new deal. It is a sobering thought to assume he can leave for a free next year.
