Transfer News: Manchester United can sign Saul for £68m

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United could get a chance to sign Saul Niguez for £68m. Atletico Madrid are said to be willing to let the player leave this summer if that valuation is met.

The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move to United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his midfield. Saul has not started a number of games this season which has led to him wanting a move away from Atletico.

The fact that he has started just 22 games this season as compared to the 30+ starts in the three campaigns prior to this one meant that he missed out on Spain’s Euro 2020 squad. His current contract, which expires in 2026, contains a massive release clause.

However, it has now been said that Atletico are willing to accept a bid of around £68m instead of the £128m release clause. Saul wants an appealing project to join but will not push for a move. The Rojiblancos have made the Spaniard available for sale as they are encountering financial problems.

More Manchester United News:

While Fred, Paul Pogba, and Scott McTominay have been dependable starters over the course of this season, Saul Niguez has the potential to displace one of them from the starting XI and make it his own. Now with his asking price reduced, United would be wise to take advantage of it.
