Manchester United Transfer News: Borussia Dortmund reject Ballon d’Or clause for Jadon Sancho
According to transfer news from Mirror, Borussia Dortmund have rejected the Ballon d’Or clause from Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho. The Red Devils wanted to use a clause similar to want they did with Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial.
This is the second time in two summers that the Red Devils are making a move for the English winger. Having missed out on him last summer, it appears that we are showing more of an initiative this time around.
Borussia Dortmund for their part have made it clear what United will need to fork out to land Sancho. The Germans are seeking a transfer fee of €95m. By now, United must be aware that lengthy negotiations will do us little good.
While there is continued optimism among all parties involved that an agreement can be reached, there is also a sense of cautiousness that accompanies it. Given the saga that occurred a year ago, that is to be expected.
Personal terms are said to be of no issue as United and Dortmund try to hash out the variables of the transfer fee. Dortmund want clauses that are realistically achievable, which would in turn get them more money. Due to that, they have refused a Ballon d’Or clause that would be activated if Sancho finishes among the top three for that award.

United are looking to get the deal done with add-ons while Dortmund want payments in instalments. The deal is expected to go through this time around as the clubs are said to be not too far apart on their offers and demands.
