AC Milan ready to make an offer for Manchester United star Dean Henderson

According to Football Insider, Manchester United star Dean Henderson has emerged as a transfer target for AC Milan in the summer transfer window.

The Italian giants have identified the Red Devils ace as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian, one of the best young players in the world left Milan on a frree and looks set to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.

Although Henderson enjoyed playtime last season, it is uncertain if he is the club’s first-choice goalkeeper heading into the 2021/22 campaign. After all, despite apparently displacing David de Gea from the first team, he was dropped in favour of the Spaniard for the Europa League final.

According to the report, Henderson is keen to seek his fortunes elsewhere if he is not made the first choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not keen on rotating his goalkeepers next season and is keen to make a decision this summer.

The United coaching staff are unhappy regarding Henderson’s attitude. He could very well be sold this summer if the right offer comes in. Whether Milan can make one that is to our liking remains to be seen.

The English international signed a five-year extension with United only last August. A sale this summer will bring what looked to a promising sepll at Old Trafford to a premature end.

While it is possible that either Henderson or De Gea could make way this summer, the latter’s mammoth wages makes Henderson a more affordable option for buyers.

We for one feel Milan’s interest should be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, Milan have already signed Mike Maignan from LOSC Lille to replace Donnarumma. It makes little sense for them to go big on Henderson when they already have an excellent keeper in the 25-year-old recruit.
