Manchester United eye three alternatives to Jadon Sancho
According to The Express, Manchester United have identified three alternatives in case their move for Jadon Sancho goes sideways.
The 21-year-old is United’s transfer priority this summer. Signing him would strengthen our right-wing, a position that has been calling out for reinforcement. The player is also keen to make a move and United remain confident that they can land the Borussia Dortmund ace.
Sancho is currently with the England squad at the Euros. Any transfer will have to wait until the Three Lions’ participation in the competition comes to an end.
Dortmund are also open to a move and have also lowered their asking price for the player. There is however a deadline that needs to be met. United have until July 31 to make their move or the player will stay put at the Westfalenstadion.
According to the report, United are unwilling to pay more than £70million for the player. With Dortmund holding out for £77m, there is a slight gap that needs to be bridged in order for the move to take place. The club however is keen to be ready and have identified three players to turn to if Sancho proves unattainable.
The alternative three
This list includes Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. Whether it will come to us to turn to any of these three remains to be seen.
Both Dembele and Ronaldo are in the final year of their contracts and can leave on a Bosman next year. It is not implausible to consider that they may be available for a knockdown price this summer.
Hudson-Odoi, on the other hand, is struggling for minutes at Chelsea and could be open to a new challenge. While he is the least refined of the three, his potential is top notch and could develop in the right atmosphere.
