Manchester United could loan out Anthony Elanga in the summer transfer window

According to Fotbollskanalen (Manchester Evening News), promising Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga could leave the club on loan this summer.

The youngster made his first-team bow for the club last season, scoring on the final day of the Premier League season against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The strike set us on our way to ending the league season unbeaten away from home – just the third team to do that.

The 19-year-old is currently away with the Sweden U21 side, scoring on his debut against Finland last week. It is fair to say that he has carried his good form into the international stage.

Having signed a long-term deal earlier this year, it is clear that Elanga is held in high regard at the club. While first-team opportunities at Old Trafford may be hard to come, the player admits that he is open to leaving on loan.

“It has been a fantastic experience to make a debut.”

Elanga is proud to have made his debut for United and also attributed his progress to the help those around him at the club have given. The player is keen to work hard and earn his stripes but insists that his focus is right now on the Sweden Under-21s.

Once he returns to Carrington, Elanga admits that he will need to sit down and discuss the club’s plans for him.

A decision to make!

“I will sit down with the club and discuss what is best for me for next season.”

Thankfully, the youngster is taking a positive approach to matters and seems determined to succeed no matter what. It should hold him in good stead, come what may this summer.

“You must be ready if they want to send you out on loan or back to the U23 team. I can not say that I play for the A-team yet. You have to be ready all the time and give 150 percent in training. If I get my chance on the pitch, I have to take it.”

While leaving on loan is well and good, it could very easily fall apart if the switch isn’t made to the right team. Hopefully, if Elanga does make the move, he will experience more of a Jesse Lingard than an Andreas Pereira.
