Manchester United have been given until July 31 to sign Jadon Sancho

According to German publication Bild (h/t The Express), Borussia Dortmund have handed Manchester United a deadline in their efforts to land Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils are once again set to go into the summer with the English winger as their top target. However, they will now have to get it done within a timeframe.

United have until July 31 to make their move and finish the transfer. With almost two months to go, there is enough time for us to get it over the line.

One factor United will have to contend with is this summer’s European Championships. Sancho is currently with the Three Lions squad as they prepare for their opener against Croatia on 13th June.

England boss Gareth Southgate has already made it clear that he doesn’t expect any transfers involving players in his squad to take place until after the tournament.

The longer England’s stay in the competition continues, the smaller the window for United to meet Dortmund’s deadline. With the final set to take place on July 11, the Red Devils cannot afford to dilly dally.

Dortmund’s stance should not come as a surprise for United who faced a similar predicament last summer as well. We failed to get the job done and the player stayed put at the Westfalenstadion.

Hopefully, the lessons have been learnt and we will show more initiative this summer. Falling short once again would be a difficult pill to swallow.

Dortmund is ready to part ways with the player and has also lowered their asking price this summer. As things stand, it would appear United know exactly what they need to do to get the job done. If we fail to do so, there is nobody else but ourselves to blame.
