Manchester United winger Daniel James vows to improve next season as he prepares for Euros 2020
Speaking on the club’s official website (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United winger Daniel James admitted that he is playing ‘nowhere near’ his potential at the moment.
The Welsh winger had a busy 2019/20 season but he made 20 fewer appearances in the most recent campaign. He still managed to score 5 times in his 26 appearances but he is targeting more than that.
And that was made clear when the 23-year-old admitted that he is yet to reach his potential at Old Trafford. James joined United from Swansea City in the summer of 2019.
“I’m developing every single game. I’m learning. I reflect on every game and every season I’ve played, whether I’ve played 0 minutes, whether I play all the games, I think I’m always learning. For me, I’m nowhere near my potential and I just want to keep improving.”

And the Welsh international then revealed what the most challenging part of his season was. According to him, it was the time around Christmas when he was vying for a place in the United starting XI.
“Working my way back into the team around Christmas [was my toughest challenge]. I didn’t play as many games as I’d have liked, so I was just working my way back into the team.”
James would undoubtedly want to play a bigger role in the Red Devils’ next campaign. He has been presented with a chance to impress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Wales look to make it out of a tough Group A in the Euros.
