Details of the Manchester United home and away shirts for 2021/22 leaked
According to Footy Headlines (h/t Manchester Evening News), images of the Manchester United shirts for the upcoming 2021/22 season have been leaked.
We now have a first look at both the home and away shirts that the players will sport in the upcoming season. Following the disappointments in the recent past, a new jersey could bring with it better luck in the campaigns to come.
Still produced by Adidas, the home kit retains the three-striped pattern on the shoulder. The major change is however the name of the sponsor emblazoned on the front.
Our world-record deal with Chevrolet, worth £64m each year has now expired. They have been replaced by German company Team Viewer in a deal worth £47m per year.
Kohler will remain as the club’s sleeve sponsors, and the new ‘leaked’ home shirt is a modern and simplistic design, using the colours ‘real red’ and ‘off-white’, using the same red that was used on the current home shirt for the 2020/21 season.
An iconic rebirth?
The away shirt will take some of our older fans on a trip down memory lane. It is inspired by the club’s iconic 1991-1993 away shirt, using the famous ‘geometric blue pattern’ across the front, back and the sleeves.
The major difference with the iconic shirt is the difference in the Adidas logo. While the original one sported a Trefoil logo, the new shirt will instead use the modern version.
