Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire garners 100,000 plus followers on his first day on Tik Tok
Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire made waves within hours of joining the popular social media platform, Tik Tok.
According to Daily Star, the English international garnered more than 100,000 followers within the first eight hours. The 28-year-old is a popular player in the dressing room and it appears to be the trend among the fans as well.
Maguire who is part of the England squad for the Euros is currently injured and unable to participate in the pre-tournament friendlies. It does appear to have done little damage to his on-screen popularity.
In his first major post on the platform, Maguire welcomed his fans and is looking forward to putting up new content. The English ace also expressed his intentions to bring the European title to English shores. The video has already been viewed more than 1.2 million times.
“Hi everyone, excited to finally be on TikTok.”
A widely popular figure, Maguire has a mass following on other platforms as well. He has 1.2 million followers on Twitter and 2.3 million on Instagram.
Time is however running out for the United skipper to prove his fitness. The Three Lions begin their campaign against Croatia on June 13. Gareth Southgate has revealed that it will be a close-run thing and that England’s opener will come a tad too soon for Maguire.
A regular for England when fit, Southgate will be keen to welcome his best defender as soon as possible. Hopefully, the United ace will not be rushed into playing, as it could jeopardize his chances of starting the new club season fully fit.
