Chelsea could up the ante against Manchester United for Jadon Sancho

According to The Mirror, European champions Chelsea could throw a spanner at the chances of Jadon Sancho joining Manchester United.

The Red Devils have long been linked with a move for the 21-year-old. Having missed out on him last summer, they appear to be keen to rectify that disappointment this time around.

However, it will not be easy with the Blues also in the fray. Sancho himself was a Chelsea fan growing up.

Chelsea could attempt to steal a march by including youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi as a part of the deal. The young Englishman is a talented player himself but his time at Stamford Bridge appears to be nearing an end.

In Hudson-Odoi, Dortmund could get themselves a readymade replacement for Sancho. Moreover, he could establish himself as a key player for the Germans if he develops.

Whether this is an approach that will give the Blues a leg up in pursuit of the 21-year-old remains to be seen.

United too appear to have a few tricks up their sleeve. The Red Devils have already held meetings with the player’s entourage and could make an offer for him as early as today. (h/t Express)

Whether we can steal a march on Sancho before Chelsea get their bearings right remains to be seen.
